Is it as safe?

Absolutely! In fact, when used properly, many experts consider eNotarization safer than traditional notarization methods. At Dove Notary Service we only use the safest, most secure methods of eNotarization.

IntegriSign® ePad signature pads are deployed to create, notarize, and process documents electronically. Signatures can be analyzed to confirm the identity of the signer. Since signatures are embedded into the document the possibility of copying, cutting, or pasting the signature is eliminated. If anyone tampers with, or attempts to tamper with the signature, a notice appears with the signature. .

What the experts say...

"Ensuring the admissibility and provability of electronic documents in a court of law is one of the most important steps in winning any case, and that is why the use of digital certificates by Notaries can be crucial in litigation." ¹

"With the growing acceptance of eNotarization across the country, fueled by a societal transformation from paper to digital, it is essential that Notaries wanting to take advantage of the new career opportunities learn to handle electronic documents." ²

 Is eNotarization legally binding?

Yes. "If a law requires a signature or record to be notarized, acknowledged, verified, or made under oath, the requirement is satisfied if the electronic signature of the person authorized to perform those acts, together with all other information required to be included by other applicable law, is attached to or logically associated with the signature or record."1

"The Texas Uniform Electronic Transaction Act (“TUETA”) applies to transactions that the parties agree to conduct electronically. TUETA includes a section providing for an electronic notarization:§322.011. NOTARIZATION AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT."1

Do I still have to appear personally before the notary?

Yes. "Any Texas notary may perform an electronic notarization. An electronic notarization must meet all of the requirements of any other notarization, such as the requirement that the signer personally appear before the notary to acknowledge the document."1
